This release introduces so-called paper mode, a new
galculator view intended to be more intuitive by means of
"Do your calculations as you would do them on a paper".
Screenshots and a short
description are available.
Along with this new GUI feature, various bugs all over
the GUI - core interface have been fixed, with the
arithmetic core stable and flawless since a handful of
releases.

In the past various users reported problems with libglade not able
to connect its signal handlers, letting galculator to segfault. Finally,
Jim came up with a
solution, thanks! Solutions are described
here. Code in CVS has been fixed, too.
I'll release a maintainance release soon.

| 04-03-2005 - x86_64 RPM build/the future |
A Suse 9.2 x86_64 RPM build of galculator 1.2.4 is
available now. Thanks to Vosilij for packaging!
Besides that, it's been pretty quiet on this homepage. The 1.2.4 release of
galculator turned out to be pretty stable and usable. You
are using galculator and you seem to be quite happy with its current state.
One big issue on the todo list is a change of the number subsystem to enable
arbitrary precision arithmetic, 64 bit integers and some rounding
( GMP?). Unfortunately I don't have the
time these days to focus on such a big change.
Anyway, multidimensional functions and some kind of auto completition for the
formula entry would be nice in the near future. Just make use of
feature requests and
mailing list if you have any ideas for galculator.

New features and bugfixes. Most important, all buttons work again. The parser code for
formula entry mode was rewritten (flex) and supports now decimal, hexadecimal, binary and
octal numbers and string operation identifiers. The big new feature for this release are
user defined functions!

It's been a rather long time. However, this is the promised big
RPN update release. It adds some new features to RPN
mode while there have been nearly only bugfixes to algebraic mode. Please give
me feedback on the RPN mode!

galculator 1.1.2 - no big news. just some updates.
- * Complete rewrite of basic computation code. Be careful - though it has

galculator 1.1.1 - two releases within two days. uuuh!
Never mind. Two quite important bug fixes
- preferences dialog's font and color dialogs work again
- GTK 2.0 is enough to build
and a cool new feature
- configurable variable type (number of bits and [un]signed) in HEX/OCT/BIN
mode. Enjoy converting your unsigned 7-bit binary to a 13-bit signed hexadecimal.
